We like the think of them as "things you would not find anywhere else in the world". Hydro power is not unique to us but our dams are one of a kind, part of our story rich in agriculture "in the Apple Capital of the World and the Buckle of the Power Belt of the Great Northwest". The Ice Age Floods refer to the cataclysmic floods that swept periodically across eastern Washington and down the Columbia River Gorge at the end of the last ice age. Then, we have the Miss Veedol story, the historic and epic transpacific flight from Misawa Japan to East Wenatchee. The flight took 41 hours 15 minutes, nearly twice the distance flown by Charles Lingbergh 4 years earlier.
