If you’re looking for a great place for a drink and a biteto eat, Norwood is the place to go. Located right in downtown Wenatchee,Norwood Wine Bar combines the Spanish tradition of free tapas – small, delicious snacks or appetizers – with its menu of wines, hard ciders and beers from Washington State.
Named after the old English word for North Wood, this 21-and-overwine bar in downtown celebrated its two-year anniversary in November 2019.
“We do a rotating menu of complimentary tapas,” says Norwoodowner Joshua Thaut. “Each week we offer between 3 and 5 different tapa options. Each customer can select one that comes free with each drink that theypurchase. We also have some staple itemsthat we offer fairly regularly, but we change the options each week. Ninetypercent of the food is cooked and prepped fresh daily in our kitchen, and theremainder is provided by other local businesses. We try to purchase as many ingredients aspossible from local merchants as well – especially at the Farmers Market atPybus in the summer.”
Past tapas haveincluded bruschetta with fresh diced tomatoes and garlic with a balsamic glaze, caramel popcorn, and arugula pear salad. If a single small bite isn’t enough, don’t worry – you can order more tapas in addition to what comes free with yourdrink for an added cost.
In addition to a variety of beverage options from withinWashington State, the wine bar features many choices made here in North CentralWashington, including selections from:
- Fielding Hills wines (Chelan)
- Crayelle Cellars wines (Wenatchee)
- Eagle Creek Winery wines (Leavenworth)
