Grill the perfect summer BBQ with some of Wenatchee’s favorites

Summer is here and it’s the season to give your grill a work-out.  With access to fresh produce from the sprawling farmland of Central Washington, your weekend BBQ will be hard to beat. With the views of the valley hills and the Columbia River around the historic downtown area, your shopping prep comes with the side benefit of a built-in sightseeing tour.

Want to create the best Wenatchee summer BBQ? Here are the best places to grab your supplies:

Start at Pybus Public Market for your grilling essentials:

Mike’s Meats & Seafood has the freshest seafood and local cuts for your grill, including ready-to-cook meals like BBQ ribs and beef kabobs to make your meal prep a breeze.

The Cheesemonger’s Shop will supply cheeses, meats, crackers, and jams to make a tasty charcuterie board to graze on.

If it’s Saturday, the Wenatchee Valley Farmer’s Market will be open and lively with plenty of other vendors and entertainment to explore!

Next, boost up your BBQ with more Wenatchee resources:

Pick out local produce at Rhubarb Market – this market has fresh produce and locally made products. Stock up on fruits and vegetables from North Central Washington farmers and producers! Rhubarb Market also hosts a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program that brings a variety of seasonal produce together from multiple small growers in Central Washington each week.

Find fresh bread and baked goods at Sure to Rise Bakery’s Wenatchee location – This cute bakery has delicious savory artisan breads that would be great on the grill or on the side—check out their slider buns, sourdough loaf, and jalapeño cheese bread. Plus pick up an apple fritter or chocolate old fashioned for breakfast or a snack while you’re at it!

Cool down with a cider from Union Hill Cider Co. – Wenatchee is known for its apples, and Union Hill’s cider is made from its 50+ acres of apple orchards. They were also the 2020 winners of Sip Magazine’s Best of the Northwest Cider Competition, so you know it’ll be good. For extra fun, create your own cider flight by stopping in at other Wenatchee favorites Snowdrift Cider Co. for internationally acclaimed ciders and switch it up with pear cider at Pear Up. If you’re looking for beer, find the community’s best at Wenatchee Brewer’s Row!

Satisfy your sweet  tooth at Cupcake Blues – Don’t forget dessert! This sweet shop has a wide selection of colorfully designed cupcakes and cakes. Need a special order, they’ve got you covered. Call ahead for cakes and cupcakes.

Happy grilling!
