Taste Thailand in East Wenatchee

When you tire of hamburgers and pizza, how about some freshly made Thai food? East Wenatchee has two good options: Spice and Mai Lee Thai restaurants.

Spice is located on 628 Valley Mall Parkway, easily accessible right across from the mall.

Spice in East Wenatchee

The restaurant has an open, spacious layout and a relaxed atmosphere. No need to dress up, just come as you are whether you have been shopping or hiking. The seating is at booths or tables as well at the bar.

The menu lists all the typical Thai dishes, such as Som Tum (a papaya salad), Tom Yum (a soup), yellow, red and green curries and many noodle dishes. The ingredients are fresh and prepared with care. You can request the mildness – or fieriness – of your liking from one to five starts.

Spice also offers take-out service.

Their hours are 11-2 and 5-9 from Monday to Friday, 11-9 on Saturdays. Sundays closed. For more information, call (509)886-2567.

Mai Lee Thai

A second option for tasty Thai food is the Mai Lee Thai restaurant, located at 595 Grand Road, Ste 6. It is tucked in the far corner of a shopping square along with Glaze and Jack InThe Box, if you are looking for landmarks.

Mai Lee Thai

Mai Lee Thai is a family-owned and run venue, an East Wenatchee eatery of a couple of generations.

The ambiance is calming and cozy with neutral tones, wood paneling and tables with comfortable seats. While there is no need to dress up, it is a place where you want to relax and linger. The restaurant is divided into the bar side and family-friendly seating section.

They offer and extensive selection of Thai fare, from appetizers to main dishes. You could start with Fresh Spring Rolls (vegetables and vermicelli noodles wrapped in rice paper and served with a sauce of your choice). For the main dish, maybe Thai Cashew Nuts or Rama Garden. The Chef’s specials include a Salmon Curry and Chicken Teriyaki.

The restaurant has four different types of rice to choose from: jasmine, brown, sticky or fried.

They also have a Kid’s Menu with such a surprising offering as Mini Corn Dogs!

Mai Lee Thai is open 11-9 Monday to Saturday, 11-8 on Sundays.
