Wenatchee’s Newest Nightlife Culture

An emergence of social gathering hot-spots in Wenatchee have taken a fresh out-of-the-box approach to downtown nightlife culture.  An elegant wine bar, swanky craft cocktail lounge, putt-putt golf course serving hard to find PNW small-craft beers, and an art lounge with lots of character, attracts interest and piques curiosity for a uniquely diverse nightlife experience.   Every one of these businesses were created, designed, and built-out by entrepreneurs with an idea, passion, skillset, and a little extra faith to make their vision happen.  Collectively their common goal is to help create a unique and diverse downtown nightlife experience that goes beyond 10 pm!  I’m sure some people are up for that!

Consider this list when planning your next date night, girl’s night, after work, before the show, after dinner drink, night caps, impress your out-of-town-guests, and PRIVATE PARTY needs.  Better book now!

Meet your friends after work or before a show at this simply elegant wine bar that has a curated wine list from Washington State, and a few rotating ciders and micro-brews on tap.  With the emphasis on experiencing wine, the owners Megan Collyer, her husband Nathan, and her brother Joshua Thaut scout out small production Washington wines from across the state and a few local wines to appease a broader customer base.

“We wanted to offer a social wine bar that is different from anything around the valley and bring in wines from around the state that are hard to find allowing customers to taste and discover new wines they may not have heard of.”  Joshua

You come to Norwood for wine and atmosphere.  Mainly a wine bar only without food as there is no kitchen.  But they do give petite bites with every glass of wine for free that are either savory or sweet.  A very nice touch indeed!

With connections to the music scene in Seattle, Norwood brings in a roster of popular Seattle indie-rock bands thru out the year that always sell out.  “Meet the Winemakers” and “Yoga & Mimosas” are a few other fun events you can experience at Norwood.  Check out Norwood Facebook page for the latest updates.

Norwood can be booked for private parties and events this Holiday season. Better get on that!  You can bring in any caterers you like or use their chef for your tasty bites.

Sidecar Lounge is a swanky, contemporary, and totally cool cocktail lounge that is like no other in Wenatchee.  Urban sophistication and sexy cocktails that are hand crafted with nothing less than top shelf liquor make this a hot spot for nightlife. The Sidecar Lounge is usually on my list of places to meet my girlfriends, date night or for after dinner drinks.  And in my opinion nobody in town makes a better cocktail than Sidecar’s new owner, Spencer Lail.  As the “designated bartender” at numerous family and friends parties over the years and with worldly flavor inspiration, Spencer knows his liquor well and has acquired an impressive library of over 400 cocktail recipes.  Mixing and infusing flavors to create something extraordinarily delicious is Sidecar’s specialty!

TAP & PUTT

246 N. Wenatchee Ave, Wenatchee | (509) 470-8890  http://thetapandputt.com/

HOURS:  Monday and Wednesday 4-9 pm, Tuesday Closed, Friday-Saturday 2 -12 pm, Sunday 1 – 8:30 pm

Tap & Putt, the newest hot spot for beer and game lovers who would rather keep busy doing something fun and energizing (like work on their putting skills) is a great place to challenge your skill and sportsmanship with friends over a cold glass of beer.  Indoor 9 hole putt-putt golf course, Friday Night Bingo, board games, 6 big screen TV’s to watch the Seahawks, and Wits and Wagers (a twist on trivia) gives new meaning to sports bar.

But let’s talk about the beers and ciders on tap.  Because this really is what makes Tap & Putt stand out from the crowd.  A continuous rotation of Washington state small-batch craft beer and hard-to-find ciders are flowing from rotating taps.  Each beer and cider is hand selected by the owners who make the quest and do the research to find great beer that may not be widely distributed, and in some cases exclusive only to Tap & Putt, such as San Juan Hard Seltzer.  You can see a current list of taps on their website.   Only a few small bites are being offered such as soft pretzel, charcuterie plate, nachos, at this time, but you’re welcome to bring in outside food.  In fact it’s not uncommon to see someone order a pizza and have it delivered!

Three friends, Jackson Cochran, Dylan Buttolph, and Stephanie Stone partnered together to transform a beautiful brick building loft with their own design ideas and build out skills into a cool pub-like atmosphere.  You’ll always be greeted by one of them behind the bar and they are very knowledgeable about their beer and ciders!

TAKE NOTE:

  • Friday Night Bingo 7 pm
  • Minors allowed until 7 pm. After, 21+ only.
  • Wits and Wagers, A new twist on the trivia classic. Thursdays at 7pm. $3 to enter, winner gets the pot.
  • Enjoy $1 off beers during the Seahawks games.
  • Saturdays $7 unlimited golf after 7pm
  • Private Parties now being accepted! Great place for corporate get togethers.
  • Party loft is pretty cool too! Rent just this space with games.
  • Scheduled Live bands coming! Check T&P Facebook page

RADAR STATION

115 South Wenatchee Ave, Wenatchee  |  509-860-3750  http://www.radarstationart.com

HOURS:  Wednesday – Saturday 4 pm to Close

Mostly pop-surrealism artists studio and part lounge, The RadarStation is fast becoming a favorite place for local artsy types to congregate for poetry readings, an indie movie, live music performances, open-mic night, the occasional Radar Dames burlesque show or to simply enjoy a beer, cider or wine in the eccentric, quirky and sultry Atomic Bar.

Art is the featured concept and draw of RadarStation and on any given night you may come across a live performance on the World Famous RayGun Stage, watch a cult-classic movie like Killer Klowns from Outerspace, play drinking games such as Bob Ross Drink n Draw, and view the featured art gallery.  But it’s the Atomic Bar that invites you to sit and stay awhile with a beer, cider or glass of and enjoy the quirkiness around you.  (Future plans will include cocktails).

Take note, you may want to eat before you arrive at RadarStation as they are note equipped with a kitchen and food.  You are welcome to bring in your own food as well!

Wenatchee native and owner/artist, Ron Evans, began RadarStation Art Gallery out of his house several years ago, which had 150 guests show up to his first showing!  Clearly that set the president to showcase a diverse roster of local artists and to give them a place to hang out.  RadarStation has evolved from a home gallery into a hipster artist’s lounge in downtown Wenatchee that you must experience.

First Fridays of every month is a great time to see RadarStations featured artist and stay awhile to enjoy the Atomic Bar and/or a live performance.

Enjoy your visit to each of these suggested establishments and always use good judgement so as not to consume too much alcohol and become an idiot.  Drink responsibly!
