Paddling on the Columbia River can range from calm protected water in the estuary at the confluence of the Wenatchee and Columbia Rivers to the moving water of the Columbia River. Depending on the season and weather you might see deer, eagles, herons, osprey and salmon while paddling.
Note: there is some current from both the Columbia and Wenatchee rivers as well as the potential for swiftly rising water levels from water being discharged upriver at Rocky Reach Dam that could be potentially hazardous to novice paddlers.
